Wave RF automatically optimizes your connection path in real-time. When devices are in range, we use direct connections (WiFi, BLE, LoRa®, or CBRS) for the lowest latency and cost.
When you move out of range or infrastructure fails, the system instantly falls back to any nearby relays, then cellular networks, then to satellite if needed—guaranteeing delivery no matter what. When infrastructure recovers, it automatically optimizes back to the best path.

Devices in the Wave RF mesh know who's nearby. By measuring signal strength from multiple peers with known coordinates, any device can estimate its own position through trilateration—no dedicated infrastructure required.
Devices Discover Neighbors
Devices continuously broadcast and listen, building a map of nearby peers and measuring signal strength (RSSI).
Distance Estimation
Signal strength from each known-location device is converted to an approximate distance, forming radius circles.
Trilateration Fix
The intersection of three or more distance circles pinpoints the unknown device's approximate location—no GPS needed.

Mesh-Powered Positioning
Every device running the Wave RF SDK acts as both a communication node and a location beacon. Devices with GPS share their coordinates over the mesh, while devices without GPS use signal-strength measurements from multiple neighbors to estimate their own position via trilateration.
The result: approximate positioning that works indoors, underground, and in GPS-denied environments—with accuracy that improves as the mesh grows denser.
